Refugee Ministry Christmas Party

Our church's "Welcoming Team" (includes Refugee Resettlement, English Talk Time, and Internat'l Student Friendship programs all together) does a huge potluck & caroling night every year, and it is a blast!  It's fun introducing folks from so many different nations to some American traditions like caroling and the reading of the Christmas story from the Bible.  My favorite part of this event each year is watching all the kids interact..... language barriers all but disappear on a trampoline, you know? :)

Sharing the Christmas story

Caroling fun.... is little MuSu next to Emma just a doll or what??
A recent refugee mom & her son.... no matter your culture it's the same look in a little one's eyes when they see all those lights, and the same look on the mom's face watching him take it in...

And then there's my crazy kids.... but since I let them take this picture.....

They kindly gave me this one :).  It's a keeper.
