Kindergarten Feast

We love Trinity's Thanksgiving tradition - the classes get together, dress up like pilgrims & Indians, help prepare the food and table decos, and have a classic feast.... real turkey & all. So glad I could be there to help & enjoy this with Aidan. I actually remember doing this in preschool (ours was outdoors in the grass but the paper costumes were about the same) and I hope my kids will remember these too.  It's our 5th and last year at Trinity since it only goes up through Kindergarten, and this is one part we will miss for sure....
Mrs. Wegert let the kids do just about all the food prep except the turkey.... she brought in a mixer, blender, toaster oven, etc. and taught them how to make real mashed potatoes, homemade butter, and applesauce from scratch.  The classroom smelled wonderful!
Making dessert...
She came up with these pumpkin treats kids can make by pressing cookie dough into muffin tins, baking that as a "crust", then making a pudding & pumpkin filling.  They tasted awesome!  Teachers come up with the best stuff. :)

Making Mayflower ships for the table

Cute pilgrims!

Performing their turkey song for the other classes
And to top off a fun day -- right at the end of class, Aidan lost a tooth! He had the top one pulled in April so this is actually his 2nd one, but it's the first one to go on it's own :). No pics of that little event, but he was super excited, and how fun that his friends were all there to be excited with him (and me too)!  My boy is sure growing up fast....
