We camped out at the ZOO!

Yes our Girl Scout troop sold enough cookies to make their goal: an overnight camp at the Phoenix Zoo!  This was a super cool adventure and we really had a blast!  I think my favorite part was waking up in our tent to the sound of about 20 kinds of birds chirping & calling like crazy outside reminding us that yes, we are waking up in the zoo..... ;)  The staff did a great job and had our meals, activites and tents ready to go for us which helped a lot in the planning.  We took a couple night hikes, pet some animals, and enjoyed the quiet atmosphere of the zoo "after hours".  Our campsite was across from the elephants and close enough to the jaguar to hear him quite a few times from our tents...

Starting off our first night hike with the guy we'd been hearing from... the jaguar:

Later back at camp, meeting some cute critters -

What's a camp-out without the s'mores??

Morning glories...

A view of our camp.... we were combined with a bunch of other troops, about 45 girls + leaders all in one big "tent city"....

My little troopers lugging all their gear in & back out of the Zoo -

And later that morning we had time to visit a bunch of animals which my girl LOVED of course.... here's her favorite shots of the whole trip....

This guys was hilarious - he brought his own shade wherever he went and would stop to rest under it, then hang onto it while he got up and moved spots.

Seems like this hide & seek spot would have worked much better than it turned out....

We had an awesome time together!!

More new stuff is below :).
